Let me start by saying thank you for your purchase. On this page I will be teaching you how to install our Squishy Paddles into a Tippmann Cyclone Feed. You see in the picture above that the cyclone has been removed from the marker. Removing your cyclone from the marker is not necessary to install the paddles. Here we go... 1. Unscrew the top screw that holds your old paddles in place. The screw is located on the top of the axle. 2. Pull up on the old cyclone paddles, and they should slide right off the axle. If not you may need to use a flathead screw driver and get under the paddles and pry them up. 3. Clean the axle. The axle. is the long skinny silver piece of the vortex mod seen in the picture below. It has the red arrow pointing to it. To clean it, I like to use rubbing alcohol or some type of degreaser. If you are using or plan to use the vortex mod, remember that the vortex mod requires to be greased. The grease can sometimes creep up the vortex mod axle, so making sure that the bottom of the axle is clean is important. If its not clean, even a small amount of grease will allow the paddles to more easily slide around the axle. So make sure its clean. If you don't have rubbing alcohol use soapy water. Anything is better than nothing here. 4. Slide the thin teflon washer down the axle. | | | 5. Slide the thinner of the two paddles onto your clean axle. The tabs / locking teeth...if you have them...go up. Line up the flat side in the paddle with the flat on the axle. Push it to the bottom. | | | 6. Now slide the top paddle down the shaft, making sure that you line up the flat side of the paddle hole with the flat side on the axle. Push them down until the top is flush with the top of the axle. | | 7. Tighten the top axle. screw to secure the paddles down. Apply your TechT sticker to the outside of your loader....and you're done. | |

The "Locking MOD" for ensured alignment.
For newer paddles with the locking teeth alignment really isn't an issue, but if you have some of the black or creamy orange paddles, or if you wish to just ensure that your paddles never come out of alignment this mod is or you. I have developed the mod so that you can do at home with fairly common materials. Here it goes.
Again, this mod can be used on any of our squishy paddles. If you have the black beta paddles or the orange cream-sicle paddles this fix is really for you. It was these paddles that did not have locking teeth, and alignment could be come an issue. If you have recently purchased your paddles and you received a black or creamy orange set from one of our dealers, don't fear, this mod take about 2 minutes to do, and in the end will work better than any other locking device.
| 1. Go to Lowes, Home Depot, or any other local hardware store. |
| 2. Find the hardware section. |
| 3. In the "Nails, Tacks & Brads " section look for an 18 gauge 3/4 inch package of nails. Now other sizes may work as well, but this is what I found to work well for me. I also looked for the ones that had a very small head on them. You could use a larger head, but you take the chance of the head causing drag. The metric equivalents to this size nail will work too. |
| 4. Go home and remove the axle from your cyclone feed, and place the paddles back on to your axle. This helps keep them lined up. |
| 5. Using the side of a flat head screw driver or anything really, press a nail from the bottom of the bottom paddle, up into the top paddle. Line the nail up so that it shoots up into one of the two taller "fingers" of the top paddle. This helps insure that the nail will not stick out and poke any paintballs once installed. As you push the nail in make sure you keep the paddles aligned. |
| 7. Place 1 nail up into each of the two taller "fingers". Make sure to press the heads down far enough so they don't drag on the bottom of the cyclone. I like to put the nails on the inside of the ring located around the axle hole. This is also why I got nails with small heads, so they could sit down in the groove in the bottom of the paddle. |

| 8. Carefully pull up on the bottom paddle and remove the paddles from the axel...they're probably on pretty tight. |
| 9. Put your axle back into your cyclone, and put the paddles back into the axle. Tighten down the top axle screw. |
| 10. That's it....you are all done. You paddles should be locked in alignment for the rest of your life. |

Again, thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions or have ideas about how to better this MOD or better my instructions please email me at todd@techtpaintball.com.
