QEPH Installation Instructions
Thank
you for your purchase of the QEPH. I think you will be pleased with
its performance. The installation of this part is pretty simple.
As
I'm sure you noticed, there is a new piston seal that comes with the
QEPH. The seal is included because we wanted to use a seal that slid
smoothly in the QEPH. This seal is a bit smaller than the seals we have
used on the Lightening Rods in the past, but is the same seal being
used from all of the Lightening Rods that we are currently shipping.
So
if you already had the Lightening Rod, and are now getting the QEPH
as the next step, I suggest removing the seal that's on your Lightening
Rod, and replacing it with this new one.
If
you received the QEPH and Lightening Rod at the same time, the seal
on the rod is the same as the one that came with the QEPH, so you're
all set.
To
the install....
1.
Remove the bottom plate from your Cyclone Housing by removing the 4
screws that hold the plate in place.
2.
Slide off your old housing from the piston. This should leave you with
the old piston housing and thumb actuator in one hand.
3.
To remove the thumb actuator from your old piston housing, pull the
thumb actuator all the way back out of the housing. Now grab on to the
actuator rod with a pair of pliers GENTLY. Any type of pliers will do.
In the other hand, take a wrench or another pair
of pliers to the flatted knob at the end of the shaft. Now carefully
unscrew the knob from the shaft. It should unscrew easily.
4.
Once unscrewed, apply a small dab of grease or oil to the little oring
that is at the end of the shaft opposite the knob. We recommend Gun
Sav for doing this.
5. Drop the shaft down into the QEPH so
that the threaded end comes through in order to re-install the knob.
6. Re-install the knob.
7.
If needed put the included seal on the piston, do that now. If you are
using the stock piston rod, then you can just use the one that comes
on it stock as well. Apply a very light layer of grease to the seal
on the piston rod. I recommend Gun Sav here as well. You could use paintball
gun oil here if thats all you have, but Gun Sav is going to work best.
8.
With your piston oring lubed up push it into the QEPH and slide the
piston in and out. You are now working some of the lube on the piston
into the piston. If doing this took most of the grease off your piston
oring, thats ok. Just apply a little more to your piston oring. Now
slide the piston down into the QEPH. Re-install the QEPH into the Cyclone
Housing as normal, and put the cover back on the Cyclone.
9.
GO SHOOT!!!
Thanks and I hope you enjoy it!!!
